author's note: I told you I would come back! Okay, my first story was a crash and burn, if you enjoyed it, thank you very much. I am just hoping that this story will be better. Sorry to say, it's about Trixie and Jim but mostly just Trixie. The other stories I send in will be a variety!

Pumpkins*

At the Pumpkin patch:"Ooo,ooo, oooo!!! Trixie, Trixie can I get this one?" asked a whiny Bobby.
"Bobby, leave her her be!" demanded Mart Belden "You have been bugging her all day!"Mart began,"Oh yeah, Hi my name is Mart Belden [As if you didn't know the sophisticated me!] I am Trixies 11 months older brother-- you know, the intelligent one! I am here not only to tell you a story of what is going on in her life at the present time, but about her relations with Jim, you know, smooth talker Jim, the ladies man! It seems like everything is going great one moment, and the next, there in an enormous fit of anger. Jim cools down quite quickly, but Trixie can drag on for days and days! And that is just what she is doing, and over a pumpkin!
"Mart, Bobby wants you!" called Diana Lynch. "Ugh! Coming" He replied. "See this is what happened. One sunny, cool
day...."
BRRIIINGG!!!! BBRRRIIIING!!! The phone awaited for someone to pick it up."Mart, Bobby, Brian, could you get that for me!?" called Trixie as she was blow drying her hair after a long, hot shower. "HELLO, Brian, Bobby! Geez!!! Hello?" Trixie asked calmly. "Oh, hi Jim!" she said happily, playing with one of her short, sandy curls. "Yeah, uh-huh. 2:30? Yeah I'll meet you there. Anything I should worry about? OK, good. The last thing I need is another worry. Okay, see ya. Bye." She put the phone back on the cradle and smiled as she practically floated up the stairs to her room after her phone conversation with lover boy!
Trixie and Jim had been dating for 3 years and Trixie was waiting for him to pop 'The question.' She had turned 23 a few months back and Jim was 25. She was so exited that Halloween was coming and she could help out at the church for there annual 'Haunted House' for the kids. After that she normally would go out for a bight to eat and go to the
pumpkin patch to pick out a large pumpkin to carve and then roast the seeds. And that was exactly where she was going to meet Jim that day, at the pumpkin patch, but what she didn't know was the huge fight they would have (for lack of cooperated skills) that Trixie would bring on herself.
When they meet up:
"Hey Trix, over here," called Jim. Trixie looked over and started walking over to him. "Hey Jim!" she said giving him a big hug around the waist and giving him a peck on the cheek. "What's up?" she asked her cheeks rosy from the cool weather.
"Well, I thought we could pick out pumpkins together this year, and while I was waiting for you, I looked around and found one I think would be perfect for you, my treat!"
"Oh, Jim!" she said sarcastically. "I can get my own, I have a job!"
"I know that, but, uh, the owner said that we could have this one for free" Jim answered. They had a long conversation as they walked down the path foreseeing the bring orange pumpkins. Trixie guessed which one Jim said he was getting her, but her guesses were all wrong. After 20 min of asking down the long dirt path Jim stopped and said, "Okay, Trix, that's your pumpkin!"
Trixie stood on her tiptoes trying to see over the larger pumpkins. "Oh, uh, Jim, I don't see it," she said still looking.
Jim chuckled and walked over to where to 2 inch by 2 inch pumpkin stood lonely surrounded by larger pumpkins. He picked it up and showed it to Trixie. "This is it!" He said excitedly.
"Well, don't you think it's sort of ... small? It doesn't even look real. I mean, I don't want to sound rude or picky but, it's just so small and ..."
"So you don't want it?" Jim asked finally.
"It's just so small, I don't know if anyone would even see it. I might even lose it!" she said with a little laugh.
"'Kay!" Jim said simply and started to put it back down.
"Jim Frayne! You did this on purpose just to get me mad at you, didn't you!" she asked angrily.
"What, no, Trixie, where would you get an idea like that? I -"
"HMMPH!" she sounded loudly and stomped back up the path.
"Trixie, I don't want us mad at each other, I'll get you another pumpkin!" he said.Trixie stopped, turned around, and pushed him into a bunch of little pumpkins on the side without thinking. That was a stupid thing to do, Belden. Why would you push you boyfriend into a pumpkin patch because of a pumpkin size? I'm still mad though! Trixie thought to herself.
Ow, my head! Why did she get so mad? Hey, where'd she go? Jim wondered.
Later that day:
Jim had tried to call many times that day, and each time Trixie refused to speak to him."Trixie, dear, I don't know why you won't talk to him." Helen Belden explained to her daughter. "It's just a pumpkin! You don't have to get bent out of shape about it!"
"Moms, you don't understand! For three years now I have been waiting for him to ask me to marry him. Now I am just getting a little frustrated! I guess I should talk to him."
"That would be a wise decision," Helen replied. * * *At the Wheelers' estate:
Jim was lying on his bed when his phone started ringing. "Hello?" he asked.
"Hi, Jim," Trixie said shyly. "Listen, about today, I am sooo sorry I was
being an idiot. That was a stupid thing to get mad at you for. And about the whole push thing, I hope you didn't get hurt. I did that without thinking. I'm so sorry, I was just upset that you didn't ask me to mar- I mean that you didn't, oh, I am messing everything up..."
"Listen, Trix, I forgive you, just meet me at the pumpkin patch in a half
hour, ok?"
"Okay, bye," she said and hung up to get ready to go back to the pumpkin patch. * * *Back at the pumpkin patch for the 2nd time:
"Trixie," Jim said once he found her. "Come with me." He took her hand and led her to a hill surrounded by trees and sat on a giant rock that lay there. "Here." He handed her the same pumpkin he had shown her before. She held it in her hand and realized the pumpkin was made of velvet.
"Open it," he said when he saw the expression on her face.
She lifted the lid. Inside was a beautiful ruby and diamond engagement ring.
"So what do you say?" Jim asked. "Will you marry me?"
Trixie answered without a word, just a sound kiss on the lips.
