*all ages

Author's Note: This is my first story, and hopefully not last.   It all takes place in Sleepyside, (mostly). I personally like Trixie and Jim together, not Trixie and Dan. I like Honey and Brian, Dan and well, anybody, I don't like Dan very much, Mart and Di etc. If you are not a Trixie and Jim fan, you should still read my story because I kind of  mixed them up a little. I am not doing this for profit blah-blah-blah! I only borrowed the names.I hope you enjoy my story! =)

                                                        *The One For Me*

 by Kristina

The manor house:

"Fine!"

"Fine!"

"If that's the way you want it to be, then it's perfectly all right with me,   Trixie," shouted 22-year-old Jim Frayne.

"Well, if you don't care how I feel ... then...then... Ugh! Goodbye! I never want to see you again ... if I can help it!" Trixie, age 20, spat back. Then    she     turned around and started run out the door.

"Wait, Trixie, I didn't mean it like that! I'm sorry! I -"

SLAM!

"- love you.  Okay, that didn't go so well," Jim said dully, then started to return to his  room.

Crabapple Farm 2 1/2 years later:

"Here comes the bride...all dressed in white ... la la la la la la la la la la!" sang Honey Wheeler, Trixie's best friend. "So Trix, ya nervous?"

"Uh, no, not really," she said dryly.

"Wow! Di was nervous when she was about to marry Mart! I guess only you, Trixie, would be the cool, calm one! Funny!" Honey said happily."Who would think, you and Dan. Everybody thought the lucky one would be Jim! But ya never know who-"

"Enough Honey!" spat out Trixie."We have a lot to do today. I am getting married in 5 hours ya know."

"Yeah, sorry. I can't believe Dan would pick Jim to be his best man!    With all that happened with you two and all." Honey regretted the words.

Suprisingly, Trixie didn't get mad, or sad for that matter, she just replied, "Yeah."

Honey quickly changed the subject. "So I guess we better head down to the  dress shop to pick up the dresses."

"Yup, I'll drive, though," said Trixie while staring at the floor. "Come on," she said, finally perked up.

"Right behind ya!"

   The dress shop:

Trixie sped into the parking lot in her brand new, black Grand AM GT. "Let's get movin!"

Once in the store they went up to the counter. "Um, hi! I need the bridal dresses under 'Belden'," said Trixie.

"Right this way ma'am," replied the lady.

After 15 minutes of trying to get Trixie into her dress, they finally succeeded. The  dress was very untraditional for a wedding. It was an ice blue color to match her eyes.  Made out of satin, it was floor length and flared out at the bottom so she was able to walk. The bottom of the dress was heavily sewn with clear glass beads that thinned as they neared the top of the dress.   The straps were about 2 inches wide and decreased in size as they  reached the shoulder. The shoes were also made of satin only white and had no particular design.

The bridesmaids' dresses were daffodil yellow, knee-length dresses that fringed at the bottom and were V'd at the neck. The maid-of-honor had the same design as the bridesmaids only her dress was white.

The dresses were made especially for them and for that Trixie's wedding would be unique just like her.

All of the bridesmaids and the maid of honor had their hair clipped and spiral-curled with their bangs straight, but slightly curled under to frame their faces, and they all held a bouquet of bright green and yellow flowers, only Honey would  carry blue and white flowers to match Trixie who would carry an assortment  of flowers.

"Oh, Trixie, this is going to be the most beautiful wedding anyone will ever, ever attend in their whole life! And the most unique!"

"That I can agree on, Honey!" Trixie said cheerfully. "Just look at what we are  wearing!"  Laughter broke out between the two of them as they brought the dresses to the car, and carefully laid them down in the back seat.

"Oh, Trixie," complained Di, "this dress makes me look fat, doesn't it?    Trixie...huh...uh...Trixie... TRIXIE, WAKE UP!!!!"

"Huh, what, oh Di, you look fine. It just took so long for you to get ready," she said sleepily, looking at her watch. "Whoa, Di, we have to get a move on it if we are gonna look good at my wedding! Honey is waiting for us at the beauty parlor! Help me into my dress so we can go from the parlor strait to the chapel!"

"Happy wedding day, Dan! Only three more hours and you'll be married to my little sister!" said Brian happily.

"Yeah," Dan said dreamily. "Who would think a country girl would marry an ex-gang member"

"EX-gang member! EX! Remember that! My little sister only picks the best you know!" said Brian.

Jim grunted in the corner of the room slightly. Brian walked over to him. "Hey Jim, sorry this has to be so hard on you," he said reassuringly.

"It's not hard on me, I am totally over Trixie, you know that, Brian!" Jim said, not convincing Brian.

"Uh, yeah, I forgot...sure," he said winking as he walked away.

"I am!" Jim shouted so Brian could hear him from across the room.

"What's up with him?" Dan asked. " It's been two and a half years between him and Trix."

"Oh, but he is so over her!" Brian assured him sarcastically.

"Whatever. Hey Brian, could you get my tie for me? I can't seem to get it right."

At the Parlor:

"So, dear, how was it again, you want your hair up in a green clip and   spiraled?" asked the elderly hair dresser.

"Yes, Mrs. Grey, that's exactly how I want it!" said an impatient Honey. "Anyway, Trix, I'm glad you have no regrets and you're gonna go through with it, you and Jim- I mean Dan - were meant for each other."

"Jim! Honey Wheeler! What on EARTH are you thinking? Jim and I are  over, through, finished, capisch?"

"Yeah, sure. I'm really sorry, it just kind of slipped," she said sincerely.

"You bet it did!" said Mrs. Grey

"Mrs. Grey!" said Honey with clenched teeth.

"Sorry, dear. My mouth is closed."

"Ugh, I am getting married to DAN, not Jim! Is that clear!!!" shouted Trixie with curlers hanging in her hair.

Both Honey and Mrs.Grey nodded shyly.

"GOOD!" she finished.

"Personally, Trix, I don't know why you are getting all bent out of shape   about this," pointed out Di,"it's not that big of a deal, they just have big  mouths, it's not their fault."

"Big mouth!"Honey and Mrs.Grey said aloud together. "Now let me say this, Diana Lynch, I-"

"HOLD IT," Trixie shouted. "I don't want people all mad at each other on my  wedding day to ruin it," she said, fixing a curl that was falling restlessly out.

"Sorry," they chimed.

"Good, now that you have kissed and made up," she said sarcastically, "we can get our hair finished."

Meanwhile at Crabapple Farm:

Helen Belden sat at the dining room table letting her tears flow freely out. "My baby, my only daughter, getting married! Why so soon?" she asked Peter Belden who was sitting across from her at the table.

"It's been 22 years," he said. "She's not a baby anymore"

"Oh, I know, but it feels like just yesterday-,"  she cut herself off when there was  a knock at the door.

"Peter, Helen, you home?"

"Come on in, Madeleine,  we're in the dining room," she yelled as she wiped the tears from her eyes.

"Oh, Helen, don't feel bad. Most of us have to go through it."

"I know, but...but ... why now? Couldn't she wait, oh, say, a lifetime?" asked Helen.

"I'm afraid not, but I came to say that the limo has arrived and it's ready to go to the church," Mrs. Wheeler told them.

"Okay, come on Peter, we don't want to be late for our daughter's wedding," Helen continued as the tears started coming again.

At the Church - 45 min. to go:

"Oh Trixie you ... you ... you shouldn't see the groom before the wedding, but you look beautiful," Dan said as he pulled her into a passionate kiss.

"Okay, you two, break it up, you have to save that for the honeymoon," said Mart, Trixie's almost twin.

Jim left the room after that remark and Trixie followed him with her eyes, which were now full with sadness.

"Okay, Trix, get outta here.  No bad luck today, sis,"  said Brian.

"I already miss you, Trix," said Dan.

"Uh,yeah, cool," Trixie said as she was leaving, not paying any attention.

"Huh?" they all chimed in confusion.

In the hallway:

"Jim," Trixie called, trying to  run in her dress. "Jim, wait," she called  again."Wait!"

"Hmm?" he asked dully.

"Jim, I know things haven't been the best between us for the past couple of years, but I wanted to say, it's really hard to run in this dress," she said out of breath.

"Oh here, sit down," he said.

"Jim, thank you, thank you for coming," she said, not realizing the dreamy look in her eyes.

But Jim cut it off. "Yeah, you better go do the final touches then."

Trixie shook her head out of the daze, "Um, yeah, I'll see ya later then." Jeepers, Belden, what a stupid thing to say, of course your going to see him, DUH!

" Yeah see ya." Frayne, you have got to work on smart things to say for once!

As she walked down the hall his eyes followed her into her room.

"Hey, Jim, come on, we have to get ready," Brian called.

"Coming," he called, but before he did, he turned to look down the hall once more to the room Trixie had walked into, only to meet the eyes of Trixie herself staring at him. But she hurried into her room once Honey called her name.

Downstairs at the chapel - 40 min. later:

"Helen, I can't wait to see Honey in her dress, and Trixie especially," said Madeleine Wheeler.

At that moment the organ started echoing the wedding song through out the room and the huge two doors in the back of the church opened only to see Di  and Mart, arm in arm, walking down the carpet. (Dan was waiting for Trixie at the front of the room.) That was followed by Honey and Jim; Mrs. Wheeler saying how lovely Honey looked. After that came Brian and Bobby with white silk pillows holding the rings. And only after that came Trixie  and Peter Belden. Everybody stood up at their sight only to gasp at how beautiful she looked.

When they reached the front of the room, Peter gave Trixie a quick kiss and  sat down next to Helen.

"Dearly Beloved, we gathered you here today...."

    (10 min. later)

"Daniel Mangan, do you take, Beatrix Belden to honor, to obey, to love and to cherish `till death do you part?"

"I do."

"And do you, Beatrix Belden take Daniel Mangan to honor, obey, to love and to cherish, `till death do you part?"

"I do...not. I'm sorry Dan!" She began to cry and then she started trying to run out of the chapel, but was  stopped by an unwelcomed guest!
