In fact I wrote this poem not thinking of Jim but of my own. But while re-reading it reminded me of this one new story in the fanfic-corner, I don’t know the title or the author anymore, the one with Jim starting his new life at the Wheelers', you know which one I’m talking of. And I thought Jim might probably feel the same as me as he had such a bad past, too. So here’s my little poem. Imagine it written by Jim after he had a new home at the Wheelers.
Reflections
Once I was lonely
and everybody knew.
And I thought: ‘God, please help me!
Dear god, will you?’
Today the shadows are away
and when I look around there’s nothing I do fear.
But when I look into myself,… the shadows are still here.
And with a breaking heart I notice – they will stay.
If once a spirit’s broken
nothing can it heal.
You only try to hide your pain
so that nobody knows how weak you feel.
‘cause you are frightened still today
of every human whom you see.
Your wish is only run away
before they hurt you. Only flee.
And so you’re lonely like it was before,
catched in an icy cage of past.
You’ll never be able to open the door –
the wounds you got did too long last…
