“Oh Trixie!”  Honey Belden said softly.

Diana Belden looked up and smiled.

“Doesn’t it look right?  Do I look okay?”  Trixie asked worriedly.

“Oh Trix, you look like a dream,”  Di told her.

“You’ll definitely, knock Jim off his feet.”  Honey agreed.

Trixie smiled. “Do you really think so?” Trixie asked.

“Oh yes,”  they quickly assured her.

Trixie was marrying Jim today and the three girls plus Hallie, Trixie’s cousin, had spent the morning at the salon.

Hallie came in then.  “Wow, Trix.  You look great," Hallie said.

Trixie smiled. “I’m so nervous," she confided.

“I felt that way too when I married Brian,”  Honey said.

“No!  Really?  But you were so calm, cool, and collected,”  Di told her.

“I was so scared Brian was going to change his mind and decide that he didn’t want to marry me,”  Honey laughed.

Trixie shook her head and the curls that were so neatly put up on top of her head that morning danced and bounced.  “If my responsible, serious, older brother had done that, I would have wondered if that was really him.”

“When I married Mart," Di said, "I was so afraid I’d fall down while I walked up the aisle.  My shoes were way too tall for me.”

“Oh yeah, I remember that you had to take them off while you guys danced,”  Trixie remembered.

“Good thing, too.  My feet were sore enough from wearing them only three hours. I would’ve died if they were on longer than that.”

“That’s another thing I’ll have to watch out for when I marry Dan--no tall shoes,”  Hallie decided.

The four girls stood side by side. The dresses they wore shone back from the bright lights.  Honey, Di, and Hallie's dresses were strapless and a soft blue- purple.  Trixie’s dress was, of course, white and had straps around the neck.  All four of the girls' hair was done up beautifully.

The wedding would take place in the Wheelers' back yard.  The day could not have been better, the sun was shining, the sky was blue, and there wasn’t a rain cloud in sight.

Di and Hallie left so Trixie and Honey could have a minute to talk.  They sat on Honey’s old bed.

“Trix, don’t look so worried, everything will be fine,”  Honey told her friend of more than fourteen years.

Trixie nodded and leaned over to hug her friend.

“Thanks, Honey.”

James Winthrop Frayne II tore off the tie he was so desperately trying to tie for the umpteenth time.  Brian Belden, his best friend since the day they met, laughed.  Jim glared at Brian.  “It is not FUNNY!”  he yelled, but that only made Brian laugh harder.

Mart Belden, Brian’s younger brother, laughed at his redheaded friend.

“Geeze, Jim, here,” said Dan Managan, the last Bob-White to join the group, throwing Jim a clip on tie.

“I don’t want a clip on, I want someone to tie this dang thing.”  He held up the tie, looking like he was choking it.

The boys were down at Crabapple Farm getting ready since the girls were up at Manor House.  Matthew Wheeler came in to help his son.

“Thanks, Dad.”  Jim glared at the two boys that were soon to be his brothers-in-law.

Brian rolled his eyes, and straightened his collar.

“Where is Bobby?” Mart suddenly asked. “I haven’t seen him in a while.”

“I sent him up to Manor House with your mother. You boys better get going. I’m leaving now,”  Peter Belden said to his second eldest son.

“Okay, Dad, see you in a few minutes,”  Mart called down.

Matthew Wheeler left with Peter.

“Come on, Dan, let's head out,” Mart said.  Dan nodded and the two left.

“You ready to go?”  Brian inquired after a few minutes.

"I guess," Jim said.

Before getting out of the car at Manor House, Brian said, “Don’t worry, Jim, everything will be great, and you and Trixie will be happily married by the end of today.”

Jim nodded.

Inside the house, things were bustling.  Miss Trask was wandering around making sure everything was cooked and ready to go.  Dan and Mart were talking quietly to Bobby in the corner.  Brian excused himself to go see what he could do and to make sure everything was running smoothly since it was his job as best man.

Mrs. Belden knocked on the door and came in when beckoned.  Honey stood and left to check on things to make sure everything was going smooth.

“Darling, you look beautiful,” said Mrs. Belden.

“Thanks, Moms,” Trixie said.  “Oh Moms, I’m so scared.”

Helen Belden laughed. “Why, Trixie!  Everyone is nervous when they get married.”

“Not Jim. I’m sure he’s calm, cool, and collected," Trixie told her mother.

“Not from what your father tells me.”

“No, really?  What was Jim doing?”  Trixie wondered.

“Your father says there is now a deep path in our living room floor from him,”  Trixie laughed.  Her mother always could calm her down.

Just then her dad came in.  “Trix, it’s time,”  he told her gently.

She stood up and hugged her mother.  Mrs. Belden smoothed out Trixie’s dress and left.

“Trixie, you look beautiful,”  he told her.

Trixie blushed and stood on her tip-toes and brushed his cheek with a kiss.  “I love you,  Daddy.”

Father and daughter walked gracefully down the stairs.

Jim waited anxiously out in the back yard.  He had to admit that he hadn’t thought it was possible to get everything to look like it did.  He owed a lot to Miss Trask, Honey, Trixie,  Di, Mrs. Belden, and even his mother, who had made this all possible.

Brian stood next to him, then it was Mart, then Dan.  Bobby had managed to slip out of being a groomsmen, and volunteered to be an usher.  He was just happy he didn’t have to stand up front.

Jim saw his own parents sitting up in front row, next to Mrs. Belden--Moms.  Mr.  Belden, or Dad, would sit with them after he walked Trixie up.

Trixie and Jim had decided to forgo the Groom's side and the Bride's side thing since they basically knew the same people.  Regan and Miss Trask were in the second row, along with Mr. Maypenny.  Trixie’s Aunt Alicia, Uncle Andrew and Uncle Harold and Aunt Susan were in the second row on the other side.  Jim’s cousin Juilana and her husband Hans were there, too.  It looked to Jim like everyone in Sleepside was there.

Then the march started.  Hallie came in first, followed by Di.  Honey was last, then...Trixie.  She seemed to be gliding toward him. Jim was sure he was going to fall down and faint any second.  He could hardly believe this was real.  Everything was moving so fast.  She looked lovely, even more so than usual.  Then she was there.

The wedding went off without a hitch.

Afterward, the bride and groom left for a while, while most other people, who weren’t close to the Wheelers or Beldens, left to change and come back in an hour just in time for the reception.  The ones who were close to them stayed and helped set up.

Jim and Trixie made it back about 15 minutes late.  Jim’s red hair was rumpled a bit, and Trixie’s curls were strewn all around her head.  They were smiling.

After eating, it was time for the dance.  Trixie and Mr. Belden danced to Daddy’s Girl.  That was what started a long line of men dancing with Trixie.

Hours later Trixie was dancing with Dan.

“So, Trixie, are you happy?”  Dan asked.

Trixie nodded. “More than you’ll ever know.”  She smiled. “Then again, you’ll be just as happy at your and Hallie’s wedding.”

Dan nodded, “I will, because I already am.”

Jim was dancing with Hallie.  “I hear you had a little trouble with your tie this morning,”  Hallie teased him.

“Who told you?”  Jim demanded.

Hallie just laughed.  “I’m really happy for you guys,” she told him quietly.  The song ended and she kissed him on the cheek.  Jim smiled after her as she went to steal Dan from Trixie.

Jim was at Trixie’s side instantly.  “Care to dance, Mrs. Frayne?”  Jim asked.

“I’d love to, Mr. Frayne.”  Trixie smiled at him.

Honey and Brian watched them happily.  “Brian, come with me.”  Honey led her husband out to the porch.  They sat on the swing, idly rocking back and forth.

“You know, Honey, those two were meant for each other, they were ever since they laid eyes on each other,” Brian told his wife.

Honey nodded.  “They were meant for each other, maybe, even longer then we were.”

Brian kissed the top of her head.

Inside, Di and Mart watched the happy newlyweds dance.

“Oh, Mart, were we that happy?”  Di asked her husband.

“Of course, love.  Even happier I believe,”  Mart told her.

Dan and Hallie danced slowly they were to be married the following spring.  “I love you, Dan,”  Hallie told him.

Dan smiled, “I love you, too, dearest.”

The two stopped dancing as the song ended and they drifted over to the head table.  Brian, Honey, Mart, and Di did the same.  Trixie and Jim were the last ones there.  They all could happily say that they were happy.

The Lynches, Beldens, Wheelers, and Regan sat at a table.  They were happy for their children, or nephew depending on the person.  The Bob-Whites plus Hallie, who was an honorary Bob-White, sat down at the head table.  The older adult’s were happy.  Everyone was happy.

The older adults looked fondly upon the eight younger adults.

They had been meant for each other; it had been written in the stars.

 The End

Umm, I hope that was okay.  I do not own any of these characters.  They belong to Random House, and I am only borrowing them for a while.  That was the first Trixie fan fic I ever wrote, and I am just now deciding to post it, I hope you enjoyed it.  Thanks to everyone who like the last one. ~Funshine
